Additional New Orleans Saints Info

With their name inspired by the classic jazz song, “When the Saints Go Marching In,” The New Orleans Saints were founded in 1966 as an NFL expansion franchise. The team struggled mightily at first, posting losing records for their first 20 seasons. New Orleans Saints fans would finally see their team post its first winning season in 1987 thanks to a high-scoring offense led by quarterback Bobby Hebert and linebackers Rickey Jackson and Sam Mills.

The team received national attention in 2005 as Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans and the Louisiana Superdome, the team’s home stadium, was used as a temporary shelter for displaced residents. For the rest of the season, the Saints played home games at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge or the Alamodome in San Antonio. The Saints came back to the Louisiana Superdome in 2006 led by quarterback Drew Brees. The team became national media darlings as they rebounded from the previous season’s adversity and advanced to their first NFC championship game, which they lost to the Chicago Bears.

The team continued to improve in the post-Katrina era and New Orleans Saints Ticket Holders finally saw their beloved team make franchise history during the 2009 season. The Saints won 13 regular season games, dominated the play-offs, and went on to defeat the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV in their first and only Super Bowl appearance to date.

New Orleans Saints Ticket Holders proudly declare themselves as part of “Who Dat Nation” and will chant the team’s rallying cry “Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints?” during home games at Mercedes-Benz Superdome, practically daring fans of opposing teams to answer. But if you’re a Saints fan and your question is “where do I get New Orleans Saints tickets?” The answer is: Golden Tickets.
